Methodist Healthcare Ministries owns and operates three primary care clinics that address the medical, dental, and social service needs of people who cannot afford health insurance and who do not qualify for federal or state programs that would provide such care.

  • Wesley Nurse Health Ministries™ is a faith-based, holistic health and wellness program committed to serving the least served through education, health promotion and collaboration with the individual and community in achieving improved wellness through self-empowerment.

  • The Bishop Ernest T. Dixon Jr. Clinic provides medical and counseling services to the citizens of San Antonio’s East side, which has a large African American population.

  • Wesley Clinic Villa Coronado provides full-service dental services, social services and a food bank to citizens of Bexar County, as well as several South Texas counties.

Health Education
MHM’s health education program is provided to clinic patients on an individual and group basis, and to people in the general community. Its programs are extensive and range from information on how to handle diseases like diabetes, issues like weight management, to conducting exercise and walking classes for people of all ages. Health education services are available at each of the clinics and through the Wesley Health and Wellness Center.

School-based Health Centers
Health services are also provided by MHM through School-based Health Centers that provide primary medical and dental care to school-age children and their younger siblings who live in areas where such services are not readily available. Additional health-related services include an annual dental sealant program for second graders of Edgewood ISD, in partnership with the University of Texas Health Science Center.
