CLINICAL SERVICES

Home > Our Mission > Clinical Services

Methodist Healthcare Ministries owns and operates three primary care clinics that address the medical, dental, and social service needs of people who cannot afford health insurance and who do not qualify for federal or state programs that would provide such care.

  • The Wesley Health and Wellness Center Columbia Heights serves the citizens on the South side of San Antonio with full-service medical and dental clinics, and social/counseling services. The majority of the nearly 100,000 residents in the nearby neighborhood area are Hispanic and many are single-parent households earning less than $15,000 a year.

  • Wesley Health and Wellness Center
    1406 Fitch Street. (210) 922-6922

  • The Bishop Ernest T. Dixon Jr. Clinic provides medical and counseling services to the citizens of San Antonio’s East side, which has a large African American population.

  • The Bishop Ernest T. Dixon Jr. Clinic
    1954 E. Houston Street, Suite 201, (210) 527-1505

  • Wesley Clinic Villa Coronado provides full-service dental services, social services and a food bank to citizens of Bexar County, as well as several South Texas counties.

Health Education
MHM’s health education program is provided to clinic patients on an individual and group basis, and to people in the general community. Its programs are extensive and range from information on how to handle diseases like diabetes, issues like weight management, to conducting exercise and walking classes for people of all ages. Health education services are available at each of the clinics and through the Wesley Health and Wellness Center.

School-based Health Centers
Health services are also provided by MHM through School-based Health Centers that provide primary medical and dental care to school-age children and their younger siblings who live in areas where such services are not readily available. Additional health-related services include an annual dental sealant program for second graders of Edgewood ISD, in partnership with the University of Texas Health Science Center.
