The Get FIT (Families in Training) program is a preventive program aimed at averting type II diabetes, obesity and sedentary lifestyles. Health and wellness are important for all children therefore our program provides consistent and practical information for healthy living. The Get FIT Program promotes education for children through fun activities and by providing a safe and unbiased environment. We encourage communities, families and individuals to develop skills to adopt healthier behaviors and lifestyles.
In order to meet the goals and objectives of the Get FIT program, we must develop a powerful platform for promoting healthy communities. The Get FIT program upholds parents as role models and leaders in their child's life and in their community. For that reason, it is imperative that not only children but parents be active participants in our program.
The Get FIT program's goal is to transform the lives of the people in medically underserved, rural communities. Our efforts focus on actively engaging community members and stakeholders in the planning, designing and delivery of services and programs that address the unmet needs of their community.
