Church Based Counseling Services

Methodist Healthcare Ministries' (MHM) Church Based Counseling Services are operated by licensed and professional counselors. The counselors meet with individuals privately at a local church - a place that the person knows and feels comfortable.

The program is designed to help people who are uninsured, whose existing coverage does not provide mental health services benefits, are low-income and lack the money to pay for counseling services, or would not receive treatment any other way.

How services are offered

Counseling sessions are facilitated by a trained, licensed professional counselor or licensed clinical social worker. Counseling sessions are convened in church settings that are safe and private and anything discussed with a counselor remains confidential. Counselors are available to meet with couples and entire families.

The first meeting is totally free and subsequent sessions are based on what each person is able to pay – no one is denied services based on ability to pay.

An appointment must be set in advance to meet with a counselor. Contact a counselor about setting an appointment at a church near you in the This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
