Health Education is a vital component of Methodist Healthcare Ministries. Our primary focus is to educate and provide support to our clients and community. We are based at the Wesley Health & Wellness Center (WHWC) in south central San Antonio and at the Bishop Ernest T. Dixon Jr. Clinic in San Antonio's near Eastside. WHWC is a full service clinic providing primary medical, dental, social and educational services, and family wellness and parenting programs.
Our department provides educational support to both clinics by offering health education programs to clinic patients on an individual and group basis, and to the general community. Our outreach programs are extensive and range from information on how to handle chronic diseases like diabetes and cardiovascular diseases, to weight reduction and obesity with an emphasis on promoting healthy lifestyle changes using a holistic approach.
